Hypotyposis
Vivid description that makes a scene seem present before the reader's eyes.
Hypotyposis describes a scene so vividly that it seems to unfold in front of the reader. Concrete actions and sensory details give the event a felt immediacy.
The effect depends on choosing telling details rather than accumulating them. Present tense may help, but it is not required. Length alone does not make a description vivid.
Example
The cup tips. Coffee slips between the floorboards; her hand still reaches for the missing handle.
