AI Novel Outline Generator

Describe your idea in a few sentences. The AI returns a structured outline — title, logline, characters, narrative structure and chapter breakdowns — ready to serve as a working notebook.

The sharper the pitch, the more workable the outline. 30 to 1500 characters.0 / 1500

Why outline before you write?

No long-form work has ever held without a plan. The myth of the writer who simply lets the story carry them is comforting but expensive: it is exactly this lack of bearing that brings so many manuscripts down by chapter twelve. The opposite is just as costly — over-planning smothers the spark, and a rigid plan kills spontaneity.

A good outline is scaffolding, not a cage. It sets the pillars (who wants what, who opposes, which world, which stakes), traces a curve (rise, turning point, descent toward resolution) and lets the scenes breathe. That is exactly what this generator returns: a title, a logline, three sketched key characters, a narrative structure of your choice (three acts, hero's journey, Save the Cat, or free outline) and 8 to 25 chapters summarized in two or three sentences each.

How it works. You give a pitch in 1 to 5 sentences — a situation, a character, a conflict, stakes. You may add genre and target audience. You pick a narrative structure and a target length (novella, novel, saga). The AI returns the outline in 15 to 30 seconds. You copy it, you push back on it, you rework it. The draft is yours.

Three proven narrative architectures. The three-act plan (Setup → Confrontation → Resolution) remains the most solid matrix for commercial fiction. Campbell's hero's journey serves coming-of-age stories, fantasy, and science fiction. Blake Snyder's Save the Cat proposes 15 precise beats — ideal for cinematic structures and thrillers. The free outline drops the rigid template and lets the AI propose 3 to 5 major parts at the rhythm of the subject.

When to use it. When you have an idea but no bearing yet. When you're stuck mid-draft and you want to test another structure. When a secondary character starts asserting itself and you want to see how the plan holds around them.
